About us.....

Having been in the Trewin family for almost 100 years, Neil, Bridget, Claire & Chris welcome you to 'Westacott Farm'. The farm, which totals 110 acres, is still a small working family farm specialising in beef and sheep and is situated within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty along the North Devon coast, with views out over the waters to Lundy Island and Saunton Sands and inland towards Exmoor.

In 2007, along with The Camping & Caravanning Club, we opened Bay View Field as a 'certificated site'. This started off very basic with only a chemical disposal point and drinking water. We soon found out that most campers wanted a little bit more and so we installed a toilet and hand basin. Now Bay View Field has 10 pitches, all with electric hook up and 4 of those are hard standing. We also have a wet-room with an additional toilet and hand basin and a kitchen which includes two wash-ups, a freezer for ice blocks, a kettle (for filling up your hot water bottle on cold nights!) a microwave, and a washing machine and tumble drier.

Lundy View Field is situated on the otherside of our farm lane and is open to both members and non members. It has 18 electric hook up pitches and through a gate in the corner there is ample space for non-electric units. Here we have a cabin with toilets and showers (separate mens and ladies facilities). There is also a wash up area with two sinks and a freezer for ice packs. This field also has the usual chemical disposal point and two areas with drinking water. In this field is a children's play area and during the summer holidays 'Captain Cosmo' visits from outer space with some children's entertainment. Middle Meadow is our non electric field.

Produce is available from the farmhouse from Easter to October half-term. We sell our own free range eggs (when available) or source free range eggs locally. We also sell sausages, bacon and burgers from our local family butcher, and now also have ice creams, cold drinks, sweets and a few other essentials.

We are situated in an ideal spot where, it is hard to believe, you are less than 5 minutes away from the A39. We have Atlantic Village (which has an Asda) just a few miles up the road, as is The Big Sheep and a little further on The Milky Way, but not forgetting the unique places like Clovelly, Bucks Mills, Hartland, Appledore & Instow to name just a few. Or if you want a quiet drink or a lovely meal about 20 minutes walk away is The Thatched Inn where they serve lovely home-cooked food. Greencliff beach and the South West Coastal Path is about a 20 minute walk away down the country lanes & footpath if you just want to watch the sea washing over the pebbles or explore more of this superb area.
