Great location, owners very nice couple and helpful,
Good facilities even a kettle in the kitchen that was most welcome, able to make a quick cuppa whilst setting up
Just got back from 12 nights at Westacott Farm campsite. Have had a wonderful relaxing holiday at this great dog friendly site.
We pitched in Middle Meadow, up at the top, sheltered from the wind by the hedge. Did get a bit windy once or twice and we had to take down our awning a couple of times but we sort of expected that at this location. Lovely friendly owners who were very helpful but not obtrusive. Toilet block was clean and functional but the new shower block was something else! 4 units which each contained a shower, toilet, basin, hand drier and hair dryer, always immaculately clean while we were there.
Easy to get to following the instructions from the booking email (don’t use your sat nav).
We originally booked for 5 nights with an expectation we might stay longer – an extra 7 nights shows how much we enjoyed our stay. Bridget was extremely flexible and extending our stay without a definite leaving date was no problem.
The pizza on both Saturday nights was delicious – highly recommend the ‘piggy blue’.
Overall, great site, quiet, friendly, relaxed and fabulous location. Would definitely stay again.
We really enjoyed our stay and wish we could have stayed longer but had already made other arrangments. The site is spacious. Pitches are large. Staff welcoming and friendly and very helpful. Facilities are good and kept really clean. Great park. Kids were encouraged to play ball games with small football nets already in situ. The balloon man entertainment was wonderful, the kids loved it and he even got a few laughs from the grown ups. Location was great. Short walk to the beach. Fab views. We would definately stay here again.
This is run by lovely people. The campsite was perfect for our needs and had stunning views. We were able to book quite late as we didn’t need electricity. We pitched our two small tents in a large field by one of the hedges. There was a picnic table we could use and we could have had a brazier but as we were there for he worst weekend of weather there has been all summer, we didn’t bother! The toilet block was kept very clean and the individual showers in a separate block were lovely (though could have gone with more clothes hooks). There was an adequate washing up area and freezers for ice blocks (not needed on this occasion). There were different foods available each night though we only ate on the campsite once so can only comment on the lovely fish and chips. This is a peaceful campsite and would not suit some people but for us it was bliss. It’s such a shame that the gale force winds came along but at least I can review my tent next as it withstood the battering with no signs of damage!
We visited with our caravan and found this farm perfect, the lady who owns it is just lovely, the little boards with your name on the pitch is really welcoming too, immaculate toilets and shower, and pitch sizes are large, lovely wooden play equipment in the middle of lundy view field means you don’t need to worry about seeing the kids they’re always in sight. We will be back, actually we have tried twice but it’s so popular it was fully booked!
Only stayed for one night but the site was immaculate . Lovely welcoming people. Really enjoyed it here . Great sunset too !
Pitches were ample size . Facilities really clean and tidy . Would deffo go back and I only live 40 miles away !
We stayed in Lundy View field which had fantastic views, and we saw some stunning sunsets. We were on pitch 11. £19 PN with ehu.
Bridget was very helpful and such a bubbly person. She is definitely in the right job.
Site is well maintained plenty of toilets and a relatively new block of 4 large wet rooms which were lovely but the water did seem to cover most of the wet room floor. Also a sign to say when a wet room is in use would be a good idea so you are not startled when someone tries the handle ☺ always lovely and clean.
We walked along the coastal path to Westward Ho! which took just under an hour and half. We also walked the other way along the coastal path towards Bucks mills which was a more challenging route. You can catch the bus into Bideford which is a 30 minute walk to bus stop and £1. 10 each single. Taxi back was about £9.
Loved our stay here and would return if in the area, only one bit of advice I would give is to make sure there is not a wedding on in one of the fields before you go. If like us. (although the singer was very good) we don’t go away to listen to someone else’s music all night.
Very friendly camp site. Good facilities including kitchen with microwave, washing machine etc.
Lovely pub within a brisk 15 minute walk.
Recommend and we will be back!
Absolutely stunning views, stayed for 5 nights, wished we could have stayed longer. Lovely site, quiet, friendly and the owners were very friendly. The site is easy to get to and very close to Westward Ho, Clovelly etc. We are planning to come back next year and hope to stop longer. Definitely would recommend this site.
A group of us were looking for a reasonably priced campsite in North Devon and stumbled over this one after a google maps search. From the moment we first made contact (and got a speedy, friendly and casual response), to the moment we paid up and left, we were highly impressed by the place. On arrival (after hours) our name was up on the board clearly showing us which field to pitch up in, and unlike others I’ve stayed in, we were allowed to select where we wanted to be. If I had one word of warning, it’d be that the postcode doesn’t take you to the exact location, but rather to a nearby farm, where a lad driving a tractor was nice enough to lead us to the site! The field we camped in was spacious and quiet with incredible sea views, and to our great excitement – had a trampoline! The toilet block was perfect, with a new one that had recently been built including individual wet-room showers, toilets, basin, hair dryers and bins in each. The owner Bridget was so friendly and helpful, suggesting things we could try out nearby, and also very laid back and relaxed, stopping for a chat each time we saw her. We were woken in the mornings by a chorus of cows, and we also saw ducks and her little dog during our stay, all adding to the rural farm feel. There was no restrictions on arrival and leaving times, and the clincher for us was the option to hire a fire bin for the night and have a campfire! This was delivered to our pitch for only £8 including kindling, a big bag of logs, kebab sticks, and a big bag of marshmallows! What more could you want while you sit with a beer looking at all the millions of stars in the dark night sky?!
