Westacott Farm Camping

North Devon Campsite

Welcome to Westacott Farm Camping on the North Devon coast. Our campsite is an ideal spot for exploring the peace and tranquillity that North Devon has to offer. With so many activities nearby, lots of sights to be seen and many beautiful beaches within a short distance you are spoilt for choice when coming to stay with us.

Our North Devon campsite is open all year – the autumn and winter months offer just as much to do in the area than in the summer! North Devon has lots of things to do such as walking, cycling, surfing, golfing or just getting away from it all.

We are also a South West Coast Path stamping point.

Dog-friendly

We are a dog-friendly campsite but we do ask that they MUST be kept on a lead at all times as we are an active working farm with animals all around. Hattie our Shepherd’s Hut is unable to accept pets.

Our campsites

Bay View

This was the original field, which started the whole exciting adventure off. This area has nine pitches all with metered electric hook ups. Five hard standing pitches and four grass ones with open space in the middle of the field. This tends to be the quieter field with some views out to sea in one direction and then across to Exmoor behind you. The facilities here include a wet room with a toilet and hand basin and then a smaller room with just a toilet and hand basin. The kitchen next door has two sinks, a microwave, kettle, and freezer. For your laundry there is a washing machine and tumble drier which works on a coin meter using £1s and 20ps. Available for all our campers to use.

Lundy View

Lundy View has twenty metered electric hook up pitches around the field, a children’s play area in the middle which was new in 2019 and open space. From here you get smashing views out over the bay and great sunsets. A few years ago we opened up an additional toilet and shower unit which comprises four separate rooms each with a shower, toilet, hand basin, hand drier and hair drier together with a shaver point and radiator, plus oodles of hot water. In 2021 we upgraded the old amenities block – a much awaited new build with a separate mens and ladies area including underfloor heating plus a new kitchen, outside shower and chemical disposal point.

Middle Meadow & Atlantic View

Middle Meadow and Atlantic View are our non-electric areas open between Whitsun & September where you can choose your spot to pitch. Even better views from here and lots of open space!

Arrivals & Departures

Your pitch will be available from 2.30pm unless with prior arrangement and the farmhouse for check in will be available from 2.30pm. Departure time is 11.30am.

Electric Meters

With ever increasing energy prices at the beginning of 2023 we decided it was time to upgrade our existing electric hook ups. We swallowed the big expense and felt that this move would mean a metered electric hook up pitch would be fairer to everyone as now everybody pays for what they use and any unused is refunded upon departure. Since we introduced these we have had huge favourable comments. Electricity is purchased when checking in, in multiples of £5 and loaded onto a smart card which is popped into the hook up. When you leave you just transfer any unused back onto the card and take to the office for a refund.

About us

Westacott Farm Camping has been in our family for over 100 years and the Trewins, Neil, Bridget, Claire and Chris, welcome you to their little piece of heaven. We farm 110 acres specialising in beef and sheep and are lucky to be situated within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with spectacular views over the waters to Lundy Island and Saunton Sands, and inland towards Exmoor.

Our camping journey began back in 2007 and each year more facilities were added for campers who just kept coming back for more. Here we are now some 16 years later with 4 different fields all offering something slightly different.

Produce

Produce is available between Whitsun and September from the Reception/Shop (times are displayed outside). We sell local free range eggs (laid 10 minutes up the road from the campsite). Our local family butcher supplies us with sausages, bacon and burgers (beef & lamb & mint). We also have ice-lollies, cold drinks, sweets, chocolates, groceries and other essentials.

On site food vans – May Half Term and Summer Holiday

During the May Half Term and Summer Holiday break we have visiting food vans come to Westacott Farm on various nights with various types of food on offer. If you’re interested please enquire to days and food types in the shop or contact us.
